1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using RecoverAI ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to all users, including free trial users and paid subscribers.

2. Description of Service

RecoverAI provides an AI-powered voice and text companion for individuals in addiction recovery. The Service includes voice sessions, text chat, guided breathing exercises, affirmations, trusted contact management, and crisis resource links. The AI companion is powered by large language model technology and does not have professional medical or clinical training.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to use RecoverAI. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement. RecoverAI is intended for use in the United States. Use from other jurisdictions is at your own risk and subject to local laws.

4. Subscriptions and Billing

• Free Trial: New users may start a 7-day free trial. A valid payment method is required. If you do not cancel before the trial ends, your card will be automatically charged $19.00 for the first monthly billing period.
• Monthly Plan: $19.00 per month, billed monthly. Renews automatically until cancelled.
• Annual Plan: $149.00 per year, billed annually. Renews automatically until cancelled.
• Cancellation: You may cancel at any time through the Stripe Customer Portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial billing periods.
• Price changes: We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to existing subscribers.

5. Medical Disclaimer

RecoverAI is not a licensed medical provider, therapist, counselor, or crisis service. The AI companion does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Nothing in the Service should be construed as professional medical or mental health advice.

RecoverAI is designed to provide emotional support and coping tools as a complement to professional care. We strongly encourage all users to work with licensed healthcare professionals as part of their recovery journey.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, hack, or disrupt the Service
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use the Service to harass, harm, or threaten others
• Impersonate any person or entity

7. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. We do not store or record the content of your voice or text sessions.

8. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of RecoverAI — including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, and software — are the exclusive property of RecoverAI and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Service without our prior written consent.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, RecoverAI and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service. RecoverAI's total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. We do not guarantee any specific outcomes from use of the Service.

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time for violation of these Terms. You may terminate your account at any time by cancelling your subscription and contacting us at [email protected].

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration in accordance with the American Arbitration Association rules.

13. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by posting an update on the site or by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
